Antique Copper-Plated Protective Jewish Amulet – Psalm 121 & Shaddai Inscription
Carefully crafted from solid brass and plated with a rich antique copper finish, this striking protective amulet draws from centuries of Jewish tradition. On one side, it features the verse "אדני ישמר־צאתך ובואך מעתה ועד־עולם" — “May the Lord guard your going out and your coming in, from this time forth and forevermore” — a powerful line from Psalm 121 (תהילים קכ״א), long cherished in Jewish life as a source of protection and reassurance.
On the other side, at the center of the Magen David (Star of David), the amulet bears the divine name שדי (Shaddai), traditionally associated with divine guardianship. This name also appears on mezuzah scrolls, reinforcing the symbolic link between the home, divine presence, and protection.
For centuries, Jews around the world have carried or displayed amulets—small ritual objects inscribed with sacred names, biblical verses, and protective symbols. Often worn as pendants, tucked into garments, or placed in homes, these amulets were believed to shield individuals from harm, illness, and spiritual danger. The use of verses like Psalm 121 and divine names such as Shaddai draws on ancient traditions of invoking God's protection in daily life. This amulet continues that lineage with reverence and artistry.
Each amulet measures 1.75 inches in diameter and comes packaged in an individual muslin pouch. Due to the handmade nature and antique finish, each piece may feature slight variations, adding to its character and uniqueness.
